1. General requirements
- The manuscript should be prepared in any version of Microsoft Word and submitted to Rocznik Ochrona Środowiska (ROS) as one file containing the complete text, tables and figures.
- ROS accepts manuscripts written exclusively in English.
- Page size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm).
- Mirror margins: top – 2.0 cm, bottom – 2.0 cm, inside – 2.0 cm, outside – 2.0 cm.
- Header: 1.0 cm; footer: 1.0 cm.

Use Times New Roman throughout the manuscript.
3. First-page layout
At the beginning of the manuscript, provide the title, authors’ names, affiliations and ORCID identifiers. Clearly indicate the corresponding author and provide their e-mail address.

Provide an abstract of no more than 150 words, approximately 1000 typographic characters, followed by keywords.

4. Structure and numbering
The manuscript should be divided into chapters and subsections. Their titles should be numbered using Arabic numerals and should not end with a full stop.

- Paragraphs should be marked using a first-line indent set in the paragraph formatting options. Do not create paragraph indents with spaces.
- Avoid non-breaking spaces and remove double spaces between words.
- For numerical ranges, use a hyphen, for example 10-20.
- Use an en dash as an inter-word character with spaces on both sides.
5. Equations
Equations should be centered. Equation numbers should be aligned with the right margin using a right-aligned tab stop.

6. Figures and tables
- Figures and tables should fit within the page in portrait or landscape orientation.
- Their width should not exceed 170 mm.
- Tables should be black and white and should not contain shading.
- Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals throughout the manuscript.
- The figure number, caption and possible source should be placed below the figure as a separate paragraph.
- The table number and caption should be placed above the table.
- Explanations and the possible source should be placed below the table.
- Figure and table captions should not end with a full stop.

7. Citations
Each citation in the text should include an appropriate reference prepared according to the APA 6th style. The author’s surname and year of publication should be placed in parentheses.

8. References
The final, unnumbered chapter of the manuscript should be titled References. Entries should be arranged alphabetically according to the first author’s surname.
Titles of publications written in languages other than English should be translated into English. The original language should be indicated in parentheses at the end of the reference. Authors’ names and journal titles must be entered accurately because they are essential for citation indexing.
