Foundation and Establishment

The Middle Pomeranian Scientific Society of Environmental Protection was founded in 1998 by Professor Tadeusz Piecuch. Its principal objective was to establish and publish a high-quality scientific journal, Rocznik Ochrona Środowiska.

On 4 August 1998, the journal was registered by the National Library of Poland and assigned ISSN 1506-218X.

Transfer to Koszalin University of Technology

After 23 years of publishing activity, on 2 January 2021 the Society transferred the publishing rights to Rocznik Ochrona Środowiska to Koszalin University of Technology free of charge.

Editorial Board

The Editorial Board consists of professors and researchers representing scientific institutions in Poland and abroad, including Koszalin University of Technology, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology, Bialystok University of Technology, Cracow University of Technology, Kielce University of Technology, the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

International Reach

The journal has an international profile. It has published papers by authors from countries including Austria, Chile, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Lithuania, Mozambique, Portugal, Russia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and the United States.

Rocznik Ochrona Środowiska is available in numerous academic and technical university libraries in Poland, including institutions in Warsaw, Cracow, Wroclaw, Poznań, Lublin, Toruń, and Bydgoszcz. The journal is also held by scientific and academic centres abroad, including institutions in Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Greece, India, Ireland, Russia, Spain, Türkiye, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
