Streszczenie
The correct estimation of water consumption is a very important task, from the theoretical and practical point of view. Distribution systems naturally fluctuate between periods of high and low water usage. Good knowledge of how water use is distributed during the time is critical to accurate water system works. It is particularly important in engineering activity during designing of water supply systems. In Poland from 90ties of the XX century, constant decreased in production and consumption of water is observed. The article has been written on the basis of technical literature renew and the data obtain from Water Supply and Sewerage Company for the Area of Czestochowa. The Company operates and controls the second longest water-pipe network in Poland. The paper presents data concerning water consumption in chosen area in Czestochowa. For the purpose of this study the operating data from the period of 2010–2011 were analyzed. In the area of Kawie Góry are single-family houses only, the buildings are connected to the sewer system, hot water is prepared locally. Number of customers supplied from the water network is 1,472 persons. The following parameters as: unitary water consumption [dm3/P ∙ d], day and hour coefficient peaking factor [Nd, Nh] were calculated. The water consumption in households was 103dm3/P ∙ d in 2010 year and 95dm3/P ∙ d in 2011 year. The day coefficient peaking factor was Nd = 1,94–3,5, the hour coefficient peaking factor was Nh = 1,85–2,69. It was shown, that calculated ratios for the area of Kawie Góry are different from the values in the existing literature. Similar differences have been presented by other authors too. It seems advisable to carry out extensive studies to verify these values. They can be used in design practice then and corresponds to the currently operating conditions.
