Ecological safety as a state in which actions are taken to reduce and eliminate ecological threats is an important element of the activities of nations and the international community. The emphasis on safety includes passive and active projects that are undertaken in the social, environmental and economic fields, which is integral to the concept of sustainable development. Important at this stage are legal acts and strategies that define the scope and directions of activities undertaken in the area of reducing and eliminating ecological threats. On the other hand, they are reflected in practice in the initiatives taken to protect the environment in the indicated area. The article attempts to present selected initiatives for environmental protection implemented in the area of Industry 4.0, which are important for ecological security.
