Modeling of the Water Level Elevation Using the HEC-RAS Program in a Fish Pass of the Skórka Barrage on the Głomia River

Abstract
The analysis of hydraulic parameters of water flow in the fish pass is very important due to the requirements and possibilities of fish migration in the context of overcoming of heigh difference of levels. The article identifies and verifies the parameters of the HEC - RAS mathematical model using the results of field measurements made in 2015 on the Skórka river on the Głomia river. The analyzes included checking the impact of using the Ineffective flow area, the coefficient of Expansion i Contraction, and the discharge coefficient on the obtained results of the water flow elevation. In the first step, the effect of changing roughness coefficients on the received water levels was checked. Checking the possibility to use the Ineffective flow area function consisted of enabling it from the above (simulation S4) and from the above and bottom (simulation S5). Based on the value of correlation coefficients, it was found that the closest field measurements are values obtained by simulation S2. In the next stage, the effect of changes in the Expansion i Contraction factor values was checked. It was found that the sudden change in the cross-section parameters (simulation S7) compared to the standard values of the coefficients allowed to obtain not more closely to 1 values of the correlation coefficient. In the next stage, the influence of the discharge coefficient on the obtained results of the water flow elevation was checked. Based on the analysis, it was found that the greatest impact on the results was obtained using the discharge coefficient.
